Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I pickup donation requests?
Donations can be picked up in Student Services Suite 121 of Innovation Hall on the VSTC campus. There is signage that designates where the Food Pantry is located, if you do not see anyone inside the room, please knock on an office door to ask for assistance.
- I would like to make a request.
Follow the request link above that will direct you to our Smartsheet in order to request food items. Please note that the pantry operates pickups in a 20 minute timeframe. Failure to pick up food items, can result in a delay of receiving goods.
- How do I know my food is ready for pickup?
You will receive an email from a Student services staff member informing you the morning of your designated pickup time, that you food will be ready to collect. If an email is not received and you submitted a request, please reach out to nursing
gwu [dot] edu (nursing[at]gwu[dot]edu) for assistance.- How do I donate to the Food Pantry?
The food pantry would prefer donations through our Amazon wishlist. The wishlist contains items that students specifically would like seen in the food pantry. However, donations via InKind are also accepted. Please follow the link to learn how to donate through InKind.
- How do I give a donation to a Graduate student?
Graduate students are remote on our campus, however during certain times of year, there will be Fuel-Our-Nurses, a drive that will pull graduate students who are facing insecurity to have a hearty meal sent to their homes via Amazon Wishlist. The donors will not know who the student is and vice versa to ensure confidentiality of the students the pantry aims to assist.
- What About Fresh Food?
Unfortunately, at the capacity our Food Pantry is currently running, we are unable to provide fresh foods to be secured in a refrigerated location. However, this is a goal we are hoping to expand upon in the future.
