When course registration opens, you will be able to use your program of study and  the Registrar’s registration guide to register for your courses in GWeb.

*There are specific sections of classes that are reserved for Veteran BSN and military-affiliated students. Military-affiliated students are encouraged to select the military-affiliated section to be able to participate in programming. Accelerated BSN students are not permitted to sign up for the military-affiliated sections.

Participate in Orientation

Orientation is designed to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in nursing school. Through orientation you will become familiar with various academic resources, program details, course registration and online technology.

B.S.N. orientation will have portions both on campus in Ashburn, Virginia as well virtually. You will receive an email announcing the virtual component is ready closer to the start of your first semester. Expect the in-person portion to be within a week of the start of class. Keep the week as free as possible as both parts are required. More information will come via email as the semester draws near.

Purchase your textbooks

The GW bookstore allows you to enter your student ID online to find your textbooks. The Registrar’s Schedule of Classes also lists information about required textbooks.

Textbook information is available next to each course and is updated each semester. Please direct all questions about textbooks to the course instructor or contact the department in writing.

More book information will come via email around the time you register for classes from your first semester faculty.

Review your program of study and course descriptions

Each program has their own program page with a program of study linked. While the VBSN has unique features to it, both the ABSN and VBSN will follow the same program of study. Questions about the schedule can be directed to your Academic Advisor.

Pay your tuition

You can view updated costs for the program through the Student Account Office page. Managing your bill is done on the GWeb through the Ebill system.

Send any outstanding documents

While official transcripts are not required until the end of your first semester, we recommend sending them as soon as you can. If you are still taking courses, wait and request the official to be sent once your final grade is posted. Do not rely on the checklist from your application portal to show you what has been received. It could be reflecting unofficial copies of transcripts that you uploaded to your application when you applied. Reach out to the admission office if you would like to inquire further about what official transcripts are still needed. Check out our Official Transcript Requirements page for more detailed information.
