Cynthia Awadzi, DNP, PMHNP/FNP-BC, C Dr. Cynthia Awadzi is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/FNP) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a robust background in both clinical practice and academic instruction. Her career encompasses a broad spectrum of healthcare delivery, including inpatient acute care and community-based outpatient services, with a particular emphasis on integrated, patient-centered care. Dr. Awadzi's current clinical focus is on the treatment of individuals with substance use disorders. Her scholarly interests center on the integration of medical and psychiatric services, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations, with the aim of promoting equitable access to comprehensive care. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from George Mason University, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the George Washington University School of Nursing, where she specialized in the Family Nurse Practitioner track. She subsequently completed a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, further expanding her scope of practice and expertise. Grounded in evidence-based practice and advanced clinical reasoning, Dr. Awadzi’s work is distinguished by her ability to design and implement holistic treatment plans, perform comprehensive mental health assessments, manage complex pharmacotherapy, and utilize diagnostic frameworks to support accurate clinical decision-making. In her academic role, she is deeply committed to the education and mentorship of nursing students and advanced practice providers, fostering clinical excellence and professional growth through teaching, precepting, and scholarly engagement.
