This workshop introduces the simulation educator to evaluation tools used to assess the design of the simulation, facilitator evaluation and participant performance during simulation experiences. Emphasis is placed on the development of outcome criteria and evaluation of performance following a simulation experience. Elements of formative, summative and high-stakes evaluation are highlighted.

Upon completion of the debriefing intensive, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss evaluation across the NLN/Jeffries Simulation Theory.
- Describe the various tools for use in evaluating simulation design, facilitator competence and participant performance.
- Utilize a valid and reliable tool for evaluating participant performance in simulation.
- Compare and contrast formative, summative and high stakes evaluation following a simulation scenario.

The audience for this intensive is novice to advanced beginner or a recognized need for more in-depth education in simulation evaluation.
