Faculty Staff Awards
The Faculty and Staff Awards are designed to promote and reward outstanding performance by faculty and staff at the George Washington University School of Nursing.
Award nominations may come from a colleague, supervisor, faculty, staff, students, and/or community.

Faculty Awards
Nomination Process
Nominations will come from the provost’s council and be submitted to the provost’s office. A selection committee will bring recommendations forward to the provost. This committee will consist of representatives from the provost council and may also include past award winners.
Eligibility
Although award nominations may build on past work, the nominee should have exhibited significant accomplishments over the prior academic year to be considered for an award.

Nomination Process
- To nominate a staff member, go to the Staff Awards Nomination form, or you can simply click the link below to be taken straight to the form. Be sure to fill all sections out completely. All nominations must be submitted by (insert date).
- The University Awards Committee will meet to discuss nominations in (insert date) and select a list of finalists.
- An informal opportunity will take place in (insert date), giving nominators of the finalists the chance to explain what makes their nominee a standout.
- Nominators will be notified of winners in (insert date).
- Winners will be announced at the Faculty/Staff Luncheon in (insert date).
Eligibility
- All nominees must be employed by GW Nursing for six months to be considered for an award. Recipients who have won a staff achievement award in the previous year are not eligible for nomination.

Daisy Award
The DAISY Foundation developed this program to provide colleges and schools of nursing a national recognition program in order to show appreciation to faculty for their inspirational influence and commitment to their nursing students. The DAISY Foundation hopes that this program will contribute to a positive work environment for faculty in schools.
Individuals who are nominated for The DAISY Faculty Award have made an impact on their students, the students’ future patients, and the nursing profession. These faculty members consistently demonstrate excellence in the classroom, in their clinical expertise and by providing outstanding leadership to our students and in the healthcare community.
