Student Ambassador Program

 

The Student Ambassador Program aims to engage current students in recruiting and onboarding future GW Nursing students while providing leadership, professional development, and community-building opportunities.

 

   

 

Program Goals

 

Strengthen prospective student engagement through authentic student voices.

Support admissions, recruitment, and student services events.

Create student-led content for social media to highlight the GW Nursing experience.

Build leadership and communication skills among ambassadors.

Foster a welcoming environment for new and admitted students.

 

   

 

Program Expectations

As a GW Nursing Student Ambassador, I agree to:

  • Represent the School of Nursing professionally at all times, both in person and online.
  • Assist with a minimum of four events per semester, which may include:
    • Open House and Admitted Student Days
      • Student panels for Orientation and one information session
      • Student engagement or community-building activities
  • Food Pantry Assistance
    • Ambassadors will be responsible for checking monthly expiration dates and stocking shelves when shipments arrive.
  • Phone calls or outreach to prospective students
  • Social media takeovers or video content for marketing
  • Provide feedback on recruitment and engagement initiatives when requested.
  • Attend ambassador meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with the Student Services or Admissions staff.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and remain in good academic and conduct standing.

   Eligibility Requirements

 

Must be a current GW Nursing student enrolled full-time.

Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Be in good academic and conduct standing.

Exhibit strong communication, professionalism, and enthusiasm for GW Nursing.

   Application Process

 

  1. Complete an online application form.
  2. Submit a personal statement (300-500 words) or a personal video (3-5minutes) explaining:
    1. Why do you want to serve as a Student Ambassador?
    2. What unique perspective you bring to the program.
    3. How you hope to support future GW Nursing students.
  3. Selected applicants may be invited for a brief interview with the Student Affairs team.
